Aya Cash has revealed she won’t be returning to the role of Stormfront in the upcoming third season of “The Boys” which is currently in production in Canada.
SPOILERS AHEAD FOR “THE BOYS” S2
It’s not clear what the producers have planned for the character. Speaking with EW this week, Cash says: “I want to know if she’ll be back too. I’m not there now…I’m on a new Fox show now called This Country. My contract for The Boys was only for a year so, who knows? Maybe they can CGI my face in.”
The character was brought on as a Thor-like superpowered hero with a massive social media following who turned out to be a closet Nazi with a highly nationalist and white supremacist agenda and seriously sadistic streak that rivals Homelander.
The second season finale however saw the character on the receiving end of Homelander’s son’s laser eyes – reduced to a charred and barely alive husk, having lost at least three limbs and one eye, and suffering burns across her entire body. Yet she was still alive.
There is a possibility for Cash to reprise the role in future seasons, with showrunner Eric Kripke previously confirming they have talked about ideas for what happens to her.
Cash meanwhile is keeping busy and co-stars with William Jackson Harper in the new film “We Broke Up” which released a trailer today you can see below. That film follows a couple who split following a failed proposal but have to pretend they they are still together as they’re attending the wedding of her sister. The film arrives in cinemas and VOD on April 23rd.
