Woody Harrelson will play the real-life physician of infamous Nazi Heinrich Himmler in the psychological thriller “The Man with the Miraculous Hands” at Jerico Films.
Based on Joseph Kessel’s novel, the story follows Finnish-born medical professional Felix Kersten who was reluctantly pulled into the Third Reich’s corridors of power as personal physician and prisoner of Himmler – the head of the SS and one of the architects of the Holocaust.
His therapies helped relieve Himmler’s debilitating abdominal pain, thereby giving him extraordinary influence over the man. With clever manipulations and a flair for dangerous negotiation, Kersten ultimately saves thousands of lives from the concentration camps and outlived his captor.
The project sees Harrelson working for a third time with “Rampart” and “The Messenger” director Oren Moverman. Eric Jehelmann and Philippe Rousselet will produce.
