Follett’s “Pillars” Prequel Gets A Series

Legendary Television and Range Media Partners will develop and co-finance a TV series based on author Ken Follett’s novel “The Evening and the Morning”.

A prequel to Follett’s award-winning “The Pillars of the Earth,” which itself was adapted for the screen in 2010, the story is set in England at the end of the Dark Ages. Facing attacks from the Welsh in the west and Vikings from the East, those in power bend justice to their will.

The story centers on three characters – a young boat builder, a Norman noblewoman and a monk – who all come into conflict with a clever bishop who will do anything to increase his wealth and power.
