The trailer has been released for the first part of “Batman: The Long Halloween,” the animated two-film adaptation of one of the most acclaimed DC Comics storylines of all time.
The preview drop comes as it has been revealed the second part of the saga has scored an R rating as opposed to this first part which has landed a PG-13.
In the story Batman and Harvey Dent work together to stop a war between two mob families as a mysterious serial killer targets members of both families on holidays.
The influential whodunit thriller chronicles how Gotham went from a city controlled by rival organised crime dynasties to one overrun by costumed crazy types.
Jensen Ackles leads the cast as the voice of Batman/Bruce Wayne alongside Josh Duhamel as Harvey Dent, Billy Burke as James Gordon, Titus Welliver as Carmine Falcone, David Dastmalchian as Calendar Man, and Troy Baker as The Joker.
There’s also Amy Landecker as Barbara Gordon, Julie Nathanson as Gilda Dent, Jack Quaid as Alberto Falcone, Fred Tatasciore as Solomon Grundy, Alastair Duncan as Alfred Pennyworth, and the late Naya Rivera as Catwoman.
The first part releases sometime this Summer with the second part coming in the Fall.
