Multiple Oscar-nominated screenwriter and “Penny Dreadful” creator John Logan (“Skyfall,” “The Last Samurai,” “Any Given Sunday”) will make his feature directorial debut on the horror feature “Whistler Camp” for Blumhouse Productions.

The project, which is currently casting, is described as a queer empowerment story set at a conversion therapy camp. No doubt the kids will fight back against camp counselors engaging in this discredited and abusive practice which in the past used methods ranging from ice pick lobotomies to electric shock.

Jason Blum and Michael Aguilar will produce with Ryan Turek is the creatively overseeing the film for Blumhouse. Logan is also penning the script.
