Zhang Yimou’s “Cliff Walkers” Sets US Date

Zhang Yimou’s historical spy thriller “Cliff Walkers” has targeted an April 30th U.S. release, day-and-date with its China release.

Quan Yongxian’s script is set in the 1930s in China’s snowy northeast, known then as the Japanese puppet state of Manchukuo.

Four Communist party special agents return to China after receiving special training in the Soviet Union. The moment they parachute in, they find they’ve been sold out by a traitor and are now in deep water.

Zhang Yi, Yu Hewei, Qin Hailu and Zhu Yawen star in the film, and check out the recently released trailer below:
