Lionsgate has released the first trailer for “Flashback,” the Dylan O’Brien-led film previously known as “The Education of Frederick Fitzell”.

“The Maze Runner” and “Love and Monsters” star portrays a young man living a seemingly ordinary life when he starts remembering Cindy (Maika Monroe), a former classmate who vanished in high school.

After he reaches out to old friends about his horrific visions they rediscover Mercury, a mystery drug they took when they were young around the time Cindy went missing.

Fitzel realizes the only way to uncover what happened might be taking another terrifying trip on the drug to remember what happened to the girl who got away. Deep in his memories lies the truth.

Hannah Gross and Emory Cohen co-star in the trippy yet emotional project that doesn’t fit easily into any genre box according to writer-director Christopher MacBride.

“Flashback” arrives in select cinemas and on VOD June 4th before going to disc on June 8th.
