UGC Distribution has released the first trailer for the long-awaited “Annette,” filmmaker Leos Carax first feature since 2012’s downright bonkers “Holy Motors” became a critical smash.

Adam Driver, Marion Cotillard, Simon Helberg and Belgian singer Angele star in the film in which Driver plays a provocative stand-up comedian in Los Angeles. Cotillard is an internationally renowned soprano.

Together they form a happy and glamorous couple. But the birth of their first child, a mysterious girl with an exceptional destiny, will turn their lives upside down.

Shot in late 2019 across Los Angeles, Brussels, Bruges, and parts of Germany, and scored by the Mael brothers of Sparks fame, the film will debut as the opening title of this year’s Cannes Film Festival on July 6th.
