Apple Studios has set an August 13th simultaneous cinema and Apple TV+ release date for “CODA,” Sian Heder’s coming-of-age drama about a teen girl who is the sole hearing member of a deaf family. A Journal for Jordan
Sony Pictures has announced a December 10th limited and December 22nd wide release date for Denzel Washington’s upcoming drama feature “A Journal for Jordan” based on Dana Canedy’s best-selling 2018 memoir and starring Michael B. Jordan. [Source: Sony]

The Marsh King’s Daughter
STXfilms has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to the Daisy Ridley-led psychological thriller “The Marsh King’s Daughter” based on Karen Dionn’s bestselling thriller novel. Neil Burger helms the film about a young woman with a secret – her father kept her and her mother captive in the wilderness for years. No date has yet been set. [Source: STX]

Soul
Disney and Pixar have announced “22 vs. Earth,” a new animated short that serves as a prequel to last year’s “Soul”. The short explores 22 (Tina Fey) and their time in the Great Before prior to the events of the film. The short will be released on the service next Friday, April 30th. [Source: Disney+]
