Rodrigo Santoro (“Westworld”) and Alvaro Morte (“Money Heist”) will lead the four-part adventure drama series “Boundless” for Amazon Prime and RTVE.

The story deals with the first sailing trip to circumnavigate the globe. Led by Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan (Santoro), 239 sailors set sail from Spain on August 20th 1519.

Three years later, only 18 returned in the one ship that withstood the journey and captained by Spanish sailor Juan Sebastien Elcano (Morte) – a journey proving that the Earth is round.

The ships Victoria and Trinidad will be rebuilt to scale and a replica of the Nao Victoria, the only surviving ship, will be used.

British filmmaker Simon West (“Con Air,” “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider”) will direct from a script by Patxi Amezcua. Shooting begins April 26th across Spain and the Dominican Republic.
