MiLu Entertainment and “The Newsroom” writer Ian Reichbach are reportedly developing a TV series based on the experiences in 1950s Cuba of the Bacardi family.
Based on NPR correspondent Tom Gjelte’s novel “Bacardi and the Long Fight for Cuba,” the narrative which fuses the story of the famed rum dynasty with Cuba’s tumultuous experience over the last 150 years, including the country’s fight for freedom, its tortured relationship with America, and the rise of Fidel Castro.
Andre L III is producing the bilingual English-Spanish series with 6GEN Films. MiLu also has “Aleppo” with Olivia Munn attached, and “The Thicket” starring Noomi Rapace and Peter Dinklage.
