“One Cut of the Dead” Remake Filming

“The Artist” and “OSS 117” director Michel Hazanavicius and actor Romain Duris are teaming up for a French remake of the low-budget Japanese horror-comedy “One Cut of the Dead”.

The story deals with a film crew that appears to encounter real zombies while making a zombie movie – at least that’s what they think at first.

Titled “Comme Z” locally and “Final Cut” internationally, production on the new film has begun on the outskirts of Paris.

Duris will play the director of a B-movie falling into chaos and who seems to be the only one invested with the necessary energy to keep the film afloat.

Hazanavicius’ wife and Oscar nominee Berenice Bejo (“The Artist”) has also joined the cast, as has their daughter Simone Hazanavicius. Gregory Gadebois, Finnegan Oldfield, Matilda Lutz, Sebastian Chassagne, Raphael Quenard, Jean-Pascal Zadi, Lyes Salem, and Luana Bajrami co-star.
