“Arcane: League of Legends” TV Series Set

Netflix and Riot Games are teaming for an animated series set in the universe of the “League of Legends” video game franchise.

Titled “Arcane” and dubbed an event series, this tells the origin stories of two iconic League champions and the power that eventually tears them apart.

The free-to-play game has tens of millions of active users and generated $1.75 billion in 2020 – it remains one of the most popular esports titles in the world.

Shauna Spenley, global president of Entertainment at Riot Games, says in a statement: “Arcane was created as a love letter to our players and fans, who have been asking us for more cinematic experiences that dive deeper into the worlds and champions in League of Legends.”

Fortiche Productions will co-produce the series which is Riot Games’ first, and aims to premiere the show this Fall. Check out the announcement teaser below:
