Amazon Prime’s acquisition of the Michael B. Jordan-led action thriller “Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse” drew in 2.3 million U.S. households in its first weekend according to analytics film Samba TV.
While the service didn’t poll viewers for Amazon’s “Coming 2 America,” which has been claimed to be the most-watched streaming movie title during the pandemic, it does beat the 1.6 million who tried “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” in its first weekend.
Compared to rival HBO Max, ‘Remorse’ came in behind “Mortal Kombat” (3.8M) and “Godzilla vs. Kong” (3.6M) but ahead of “Wonder Woman 1984” (2.2M) and “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” (1.8M).
Samba TV only polls U.S. terrestrial televisions, not mobile or digital, and only counts those who tuned into the movie for at least five minutes.
Skydance, who produced ‘Remorse’ and Amazon’s “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” series, recently sold the Chris Pratt-led sci-fi action film “The Tomorrow War” to the service.
