“Dune” Readying For Venice Premiere?

The Venice Film Festival is gearing up for an in-person event this year and it’s being suggested that Denis Villeneuve’s highly anticipated sci-fi adaptation “Dune” is potentially one of the films being shown.

Should it prove true, it would be a major ‘get’ for the festival as it’s one of the most anticipated films of the year and has the chance of being both a potential blockbuster and a possible awards contender if it works.

It’s also not an unfamiliar idea as Villeneuve and Warner Bros. Pictures launched sci-fi drama “Arrival” there in 2016. Venice is not expected to begin until September 1st with Bong Joon-Ho serving as jury president.
