Naughty Dog’s “The Last of Us Part II” has finally received its long-awaited PlayStation 5 upgrade.
The free upgrade patch, bringing the game up to version 1.08, updates the game to play at a locked 60fps on PlayStation 5 – up from the standard locked 30fps.
Tests done by Digital Foundry indicate that, baring one scene for a few seconds, hours of tests run on the game saw no drops below 60. All other visual elements remain the same, including the game’s native 1440p resolution, but load times have been cut in half.
The title now joins other high-profile first-party Sony titles like “Ghost of Tsushima,” “God of War,” “Days Gone” and “Ratchet and Clank” to receive a 60fps upgrade patch – leaving namely just the more recent “Uncharted” games and “Bloodborne” as the few PS4 first-party titles that are still stuck on 30fps.
