Oscar-winner Eric Roth (“Munich,” “Forrest Gump,” “A Star is Born”) is set to pen a biopic about the life and career of the one and only Cher for Universal Pictures.

With a decades-long career spanning music, television, fashion and film, Cher has released multiple studio albums, hosted a comedy variety show, held a Las Vegas residency, and had an expansive film career including an Oscar win.

Judy Craymer and Gary Goetzman (“Mamma Mia!”) are set to produce the project. The announcement comes the day that Cher herself turns 75. Roth previously worked with Cher on 1987 thriller “Suspect” and most recently penned Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon”.
