DC Announces Animated “Injustice” Film

A DC animated movie adaptation of the popular fighting video game “Injustice: Gods Among Us” is on the way.

The project will be the next of the DC Animated Features with an advance sneak peek to be available as part of the upcoming home release for “Batman: The Long Halloween: Part Two” on July 27th.

The games, and the comic series that continues the story, is set in a dark alternate timeline where The Joker tricks Superman into killing Lois Lane and accidentally destroying Metropolis with a nuclear bomb.

Superman murders the Joker and continues to execute criminals as he grows more and more corrupt. Five years on, he has formed the One Earth Regime to enforce global peace – but many of DC’s most famous superheroes, led by Batman, have banded together to oppose the regime.

Launched in 2013, Injustice: Gods Among Us tells the story of a parallel universe in which the Joker tricks Superman into killing his pregnant wife Lois Lane, and detonating a nuclear weapon that destroys Metropolis, killing five million people.
