Aaron Taylor-Johnson (“Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Godzilla,” “Kick-Ass”) has reportedly been cast in the lead role as Kraven the Hunter in solo movie about the Spider-Man villain at Sony Pictures.
The Wrap broke the news, saying the studio has locked in Taylor-Johnson for multiple pictures in this next chapter of Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters (SPUMC) which includes “Venom” and “Morbius”.
Taylor-Johnson plays the Russian immigrant Sergei Kravinoff who is on a mission to prove that he is the greatest hunter in the world. The comic storyline “Kraven’s Last Hunt” is considered one of the most famous stories in all of comics.
Oscar nominee J.C. Chandor (“A Most Violent Year,” “Triple Frontier”) will direct from a screenplay by Richard Wenk (“The Equalizer,” “The Magnificent Seven”).
