Following major acclaim for both “Alan Wake” and “Control,” Finnish game developer Remedy Entertainment is now branching out and is developing “Condor” – a four-player co-op multiplayer spin-off of “Control” for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
That’s not all though as the company is also developing another bigger-budget single-player entry in the “Control” series. No dates for either project have been given but it was indicated “development takes a long time” which suggests it’s years off.
Remedy and publisher 505 Games revealed the deal together on Remedy’s official site where game director Mikael Kasurinen also discussed the inevitable scepticism of a single-player studio making a multiplayer game:
“I believe we can create shared experiences without compromising the unique DNA of who we are, or the stories we want to tell. Yes, we need to re-think our angles, our techniques, our mindset, but we see it as an exciting challenge: What would a Remedy multiplayer game look like?.”
Recent rumors have suggested the studio is currently busy with a remaster of and/or sequel to “Alan Wake” which shares the same ‘universe’ as “Control” going by the DLC for the title.
