WaterTower Music has announced plans for the release of three separate soundtracks for Denis Villeneuve’s highly-anticipated film adaptation of Frank Herbert’s sci-fi classic “Dune” from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures.
The soundtracks are composed by Oscar and Grammy winner Hans Zimmer who is known for scores on the likes of many of Christopher Nolan’s films and the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise. Zimmer previously worked with Villeneuve on “Blade Runner 2049”
On September 3rd comes “The Dune Sketchbook (Music From the Soundtrack)”. This will be “comprised of extended, immersive musical explorations of the Dune film score”.
On September 17th comes the release of “Dune (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack),” the more standard film release score soundtrack.
In both cases, the albums will be released in standard and Dolby Atmos versions.
The third and final album is “The Art and Soul of Dune” on October 22nd which serves as a companion soundtrack to the film’s art book by executive producer Tanya Lapointe. That album’s music aims to immerse readers as they venture through this book.
“Dune” arrives in cinemas and on HBO Max on October 22nd.
