Following a vague and dark teaser the other week, A24 has released a new full trailer for the Cannes-premiering Noomi Rapace-led “Lamb” with this one offering both a sinister and darkly comedic tone.
The folktale follows a childless couple in rural Iceland who makes an alarming discovery one day in their sheep barn. They soon face the consequences of defying the will of nature.
While the teaser kept the ‘child’ hidden, the new trailer shows it off enough to make one curious, laugh at the audacity and feel a little chill over where it might go.
Valdimar Johannsson, who also wrote the script with Icelandic poet Sjon, directs the film which joins A24’s impressive line-up of dark genre films like Ari Aster’s “Hereditary” and “Midsommar” and Robert Eggers’ “The Witch” and “The Lighthouse”.
