“South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are attempting to become the new owners of beloved Lakewood, Colorado giant Mexican restaurant Casa Bonita.
The establishment, which has featured multiple times in “South Park,” is owned by Summit Family Restaurants which filed for Chapter 11 protection in Arizona in April.
Ongoing court proceedings mean a possible sale has stalled, but the pair are reportedly trying to make some sort of deal work.
Parker says: “We want to buy Casa Bonita and treat it right. I feel like it was neglected even before the pandemic. We are absolutely trying to buy it. We are going to do everything we can. We want to make it right and make it amazing.”
The place was also a beloved childhood location for Parker and Stone and should they obtain it, they plan to work along with additional unidentified Colorado-based restaurateurs to expand it.
