Following its axing on NBC after seasons, musical dramedy series “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist” could score a brief second life at Roku.
The media player giant is reportedly in discussions with Lionsgate Television for a movie special bringing back the original cast including star Jane Levy (“Don’t Breathe”).
Talks are reportedly still early, there is no deal signed, but the project would be a two-hour movie special that would hit the Roku Channel in time for the 2021 holidays.
Levy stars as Zoey Clarke, a computer coder living in San Francisco who suddenly starts to hear the innermost wants, thoughts and desires of the people around her through popular songs.
Alex Newell, Skylar Astin, John Clarence Stewart, Mary Steenburgen, Andrew Leeds, Alice Lee, Michael Thomas Grant, Kapil Talwalkar, Lauren Graham and Harvey Guillen co-star.
