Revenue generated by games from Australian studios rose 23% since last year

The Australian games industry has doubled its revenue in the past five years, reaching AU$226.5 million ($160.9 million) in 2021.
That’s a 23% growth compared to last year, with the Australian industry growing 20% every year for the past three years.
That’s according to the annual survey from the Interactive Games & Entertainment Association, which added that employment in the Australian industry grew 7% year-on-year.
There were 1,327 full time employees (or equivalent) across 187 Australian game studios in 2021, with 64% of these studios planning to hire in 2022.
